Canadian Military Official Histories 1940-1959

During the Second World War, the Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Air Force appointed Historical Officers to produce reports for future records and to form the basis of future Canadian Military Official Histories (ie Canadian Army Official History).

The most comprehensive collection of reports were researched and written by Canadian Military Historical Officers at the Canadian Military Headquarters (CMHQ) in London, England (1940-1948). They can be found here.

The Army Head Quarters (AHQ) Reports, compiled by the staff of the General Staff Historical Section from 1948-1959, were the successors to the Canadian Military Headquarters (CMHQ) Reports once Col C.P. Stacey and his staff returned to Canada from London, England (1947-1948).
Those reports can be found here.
